Philly fun.

Following on the trail of weird science I have taken another look at a subject that has fascinated me since my pre-teens, namely the so called 'Philadelphia experiment'. My reason for taking another look at a story that seemed so sci-fi I was convinced for years it never really happened and was more sci-fi than based in reality.

My reason for having a re-look was due to recent interview I heard by a long time researcher into the subject. He had taken a very rational sceptical view but as luck would have it over the years managed to be meet people with first hand recounts of the events. The most recent interview was on 'Night watch radio' podcast.

For those unfamiliar the experiment was supposedly a 'de-gaussing' experiment to demagnetise ships hulls on the American navy fleet to render them safe from a new form of seaborne mine that would explode when destroyers magnetised hulls came within proximity of them. Whether this was a cover for other more elaborate experiments I am unconvinced either way as yet but as 'the story' goes a bit of a mishap resulted in shipmen fused into the hull, survivors 'fading' in and out of view and the apparent 'time travel' and relocation of the ship. All very far fetched but when people involved and eyewitness's recount some of the events of the record it is an absolutely staggering story with many of the top minds of the day such as Einstein and Tesla involved with different wave frequencies and the resulting effects being flabbergasting.

My particular favourite account is of an American aircraft pilot from the late sixties where the same 'technology' was used on an aircraft that 'time slipped' into the eighties and to a different location, on trying to land they had the wrong clearance and were shot at resulting in a fatality that I assume fell from the bay doors of the aircraft and ended up with a death certificate signed in 1980 odd despite being 'killed' officially in 1966 or something.

Interesting topic with many possible answers and cover ups but certainly bizarre........
