So as fate would have it after much time away from writing blogs my return coincides with a state visit to the UK by Donald Trump the President of
Now for those that don't know me well I think Trump is a fake tanned, speak without thinking, Twitter addict who seems to be a decent businessman and not so great game show host. He fails to demonstrate understanding of the nuances in diplomacy. In pursuit of making America great again his actions are likely to be harmful to the rest of the world be it through sanctions, trade wars, undermining alliances, climate change, shooting wars etc etc...... All of these assist his making money for American industries which appears to be his goal, albeit a short term benefit for long term disaster. Presidents are only judged short term so keeping the fossil fuel industry and military sales flowing whilst undermining the competition in China or Iran life is sweet right? Keeping the voters happy, jobs and the economy doing great....
There will be protests which Trump can have as a badge of honor as we in the UK tend to wave flags for arriving dignitaries. This time he better dodge the millenniums 'weapon of choice' the humble milkshake ( though most of these nowadays probably never been near a cow). My only question is, is the Trump blimp going to have more hot air than the real thing?
PS. Making comments on who would make a good Prime Minister is bad form. He wouldn't like our PM in waiting 'bungling' Boris singing the praises of 'Hell spawn' Hillary on a visit to the US now would he? Terrible diplomatic skills, both of them ;)
