What's up Flower?

A recent article in New Scientist is pretty good news for Botanists, farmers and gardeners everywhere.

I think this is pretty good news for helping stem the inevitable food shortages which may be caused by the effects of 'global warming'. Admittedly I am not a big fan of genetic engineering our food supplies but as long as big corporations don't somehow 'patent' specific genes this could well help many countries when climate change occurs to stop crop failure.

Actually it would be more commercial use to cut flower suppliers having flowering plants all year around, I would quite like to see daffodils and snowdrops all year round in my garden but nature doesn't quite work like that....
