Big bang

Cool new piccies of the largest super nova recorded to date. Though admittedly it happened 240million years ago but we have noticed now the light shows reached us. The full article can be found here:

Quite amusing every time something unexpected comes along we have to rewrite the rules of science... This star shouldn't have existed at the size it was to cause this size of supernova. As yet I haven't been able to deduce the physics around size of star formation and why stars can't be tiny or super huge. We see a good deal of variations with our observations to date. I am assuming a minimum size to have enough fuel for the constant chain reactions taking place but too huge and it would just sort of blow up and not form... Must research this.

Anyway the funny thing is we have a star in our own milky way similar size displaying pre-burnout explosion stuff at the minute. If it does 'go nova' we could have some truly amazing light shows down on our lump of rock and a sort of twilight night with the amount of light reaching us. That going to cause wildlife and me all sorts of problems wondering what time of night it is.....
