Wet Earthquakes

A few posts ago I mentioned the coincidence of heavy rainfall during the recent Hawaiian earthquake. Well after a little looking around discovered this article from 'Nature'

It seems rain can act as a precursor to quakes. Disinformation or sound fact...
I tend to think it certainly may enhance earthquake activity but actually trigger tectonic plate movement seems a bit of a tenuous link.
